Broadcast Chicago is a plain guide to free TV and radio in Chicago and the suburbs: which station is on which channel or frequency, how to receive it and where to turn when the weather or an emergency makes the news.
Channel numbers, frequencies, cities of license and licensees come from the FCC’s Public Inspection File. Rules about antennas, alerts and NextGen TV come from the FCC’s regulations in the Code of Federal Regulations. Weather radio details come from the National Weather Service, and what a station or team calls itself comes from its own website.
We do not guess at a station’s network, format or owner when its own pages and the FCC’s records do not say. If a detail is missing from a list, that is why.
Rights deals, station names and channel line-ups change. If something here no longer matches what you see, check the station’s or team’s own page, and run a fresh channel scan.
